Ask F13tch about affiliate marketing!

Ever wondered why adult websites rake in so much cash on the internet? Even better, have you ever thought about how sweet it would be to get a piece of that pie, even a small slice? Well, you don't have to be a fetish model or a well hung porn star in order to share in the profit champagne supernova that is the porn industry!

All you have to do is join the affiliate programs listed on this page (click here! ), promote your links diligently, and collect your commission checks for traffic and sales you generate. Its that simple. Even better, it works 24/7, 365 days a week, on auto-pilot!

For starters, most of the websites that you have ever visited online have their own "affiliate" or "associate" program.

Vendors utilize affiliates, such as myself, to offset the overwhelming costs of marketing and advertising. By allowing an independent affiliate to promote their website for a small % of the profits vendors are able to remain competitive as well as continue to keep their prices low for consumers. Best of all, there are no start up costs or fees required!

Learning the Ropes

I began my adventure into affiliate programs shortly after reading my first issue of Revenue magazine. It had arrived on my doorstep as a promotional gift. I have been a faithful subscriber ever since.

There is alot of money to be made with affiliate programs, that is for sure.

The same also holds true for adult website vendors as well. There is however one major difference between your typical internet merchant affiliate program and their adult website counterparts. With adult affiliate programs independent affiliates are able to make astronomical profits! This is primarily due to the higher conversion rates associated with adult content versus let's say DVDs, Cds, or giving away free coupons. But don't just take my word for it, I am The Fetish Advocate, so I may be a bit biased :)

With a little hard work, focus, and determination both types of affiliate programs represent lucrative means of earning an extra income. It is my personal opinion, perhaps due to my lack of enthusiasm for non-adult programs, that the possibility of making "astronomical profit" just isn’t as...well, easy.

The proof of any good affiliate program is essentially in their compensation plan. It also doesn't help if people are absolutely craving the products your selling. Let's face the facts folks, sex sells.

This does not mean that the road will be easy. For someone unfamiliar to affiliate marketing learning the ropes of the affiliate game may seem like attempting to enter a race a few minutes after the starting gun has fired. For this group of individuals it will take some focus and determination on your part before you'll be able to reduce the learning curve and become a truly effective affiliate.

how affiliate programs work

affiliate marketing

Step 1: How To Become an Independent Adult Affiliate

As a general rule most vendors/merchants will require you to operate a functional website or blog before you can sign up for their affiliate program.

This however is not always the case. Since most vendors and consumers absolutely hate spam you'd be better off having your own website or blog to promote your affiliate site. There are other methods but these will be my primary focus here.

You may also find that some affiliate programs will not accept free email accounts. As many of you may be familiar with signing up for a Myspace, YouTube, or Facebook account, these all accept free email accounts for new registrations and sign ups. If you come across a site that rejects free email accounts simply come back to that affiliate program later and move on.

Using a blog:

Blogger.com, which absolutely rocks!, offers you a free blog that is also easy to use. You can learn alot how to operate a blog from using blogger's tutorial sections.

I recommend spending some time going over the blogger tutorials because you'll gain a wealth of knowledge that can be applied later on with other applications. Once you get the hang of things you'll be able to insert your personal affiliate link codes into your blog via text links, hot linking images, etc.

25% of what I do is effective product placement and coping and pasting link codes. The other 50% of the time is spent creating new content for my blog. The remaining 25% is responding to emails and organizing new content.

Using a website:

If you opt to start your own website you'll need your own domain name and a good host. I highly recommend the following hosting companies:

* Global Domains International (register your domain name, website hosting, business opportunity. Get a slice of the .ws and .com business!)

* DWHS.net (webhosting starting at $3!)

* Bitchhost.com (run by the Cyber Diva fetish model Brittany Andrews)

I am currently using Global Domains International and DWHS.net.

If you intend on posting images on your blog or website you will most likely want to save your bandwidth by hosting your images on a free image hosting site. I highly recommend the following website:

* Photobucket.com (hosts non-adult images).

I highly recommend signing up here and playing around with Photobucket.com's editing tools as you will learn alot of things you can apply in other ways as you grow in experience down the road.

* Free Image Hosting Directory (for hosting adult images)

Using website building software:

Now that you've got your own website you'll need to create your website. I am not a computer genius but I am a one man operation.

So I personally use Bluevoda website builder to create The Fetish Advocate. Their tutorials are so in depth that I learned practically everything I know from my Bluevoda program!

* Download BlueVoda for FREE!

If you are seeking to know more about HTML your best bet will always be to Google what you're looking for and finding it on a forum.

Step 2: Website Promotion

Now that you're site is up and running you'll need to do some research on the best methods for promoting your website and your affiliate links. Please take advantage of the following resources:

* A Promotion Guide

* Market on Facebook

* Fast Submit Search Wizard (your website submitted to over 100+ of the Internet's biggest search engines and directories.)

* Google Adwords

* Web Overdrive

* Social Networks: Social networks are my favorite way to promote. I am a big believer in one-to-one exchange of ideas and i personally prefer the intimate interaction and feedback i receive from visitors and friends about The Fetish Advocate.com!

Some really great social networks where you'll meet likeminded individuals are:

Myspace

Facebook

Step 3: Compensation

So, now that you've gotten your first few sales you should be expecting a nice commission check in the mail soon. Adult affiliate websites offer a wide array of lucrative compensations plans to keep their affiliate base happy and motivated. Here is a brief list of some of the more common ways to earn money with your affiliate site:

CPC: Cost per Click. This means you get paid everytime someone clicks on your banner or link, or gallery image. This usually ranges from $0.01 to $0.04, but it adds up quick if you're driving traffic to your site.

CPL: Cost per Lead. This means that you will make a predetermined commission for every confirmed lead your affiliate code generates. Have you ever filled out a questionaire or online application for a pay-day loan, price quote, auto insurance quote? Well, someone made anywhere from $10-$25 thanks to your lead submission.

Pay Per Join: For every visitor who signs up for a membership you'll earn a predetermined one time commission. This can range from $25-$35 or higher per sign up! This is good for sites that have good content but not good enough to lure repeat customers.

Revenue Sharing: This option is for the long term affiliate who has been able to enlist a loyal fan base for a website. These fans hold on to their memberships and pay a monthly subscription fee to enjoy fresh content and online communities. For the affiliate it would be a good idea to choose the rev-share option and earn a residual income rather than a quick one time fix. If you become an affiliate of a site that retains its customers via subscriptions the rev-share option is the best option for you.

Webmaster Referrals: This is by far where the true wealth building potential is at! With your personal webmaster referral link you have the capability of recruiting new webmasters into your affiliate program. This means more traffic for your vendor/merchant and in turn they are willing to reward you handsomely for your recruiting efforts. Some merchants will pay up to $150 for every new webmaster you sign up!

Thats right folks! You could earn as much as $150-$250 for recruiting new webmasters to sign up for a FREE to join affiliate program!

Now, having said that, it should be known that you will not make that $150 until said webmaster makes his or her first sell or recruits another webmaster herself. This varies from one site to another but this is the gist of how it works.

You sign up o recruit a new webmaster.
Your new webmaster makes their first sale.
You earn your referral bonus!

Some companies may not pay you your bonus until the webmaster you refer makes 2 or more qualifying sales. This is merely a gaurd against fraud and not an attempt to avoid paying you your referral bonus.

Downlines:

One of the most powerful wealth building tools infused into affiliate marketing is the benefits of what is called network marketing. Like other network marketing program, many sites that offer webmaster referrals allow you to earn a % of the profits from the webmasters you recruited. This usually works for 1-3 tiers of recruits allowing your wealth to compound exponentially!

Step 4: You Get Paid to Advocate Your Fetish or Favorite Sites/Products!

Well, that's adult affiliate programs in a nutshell. Of course, you need to keep track of all of your earnings for Uncle Sam for tax season. Nothing is gauranteed in life but death and taxes. I hope this has helped, if you have any questions feel free to contact me here.
